Lower Keys Lodging

Key West is a small island city with allot of lodging options and great nearby restaurants. My marina of operation is located just 20 min outside of Key West, where things are a bit more quiet.

Outside of Key West, lodging in the Lower Keys is somewhat limited. Below are a few good options to consider when planning your trip.

Affordable Options

Little Torch Key - Parmers Resort
Big Pine Key -
Old Wooden Bridge
Key West -
Harborside Motel & Marina
Key West -
DoubleTree Resort

Traveling to the Florida Keys

Option #1
Fly directly into Key West.
This is the easiest and sometimes more costly mode of travel. Renting a car is not necessary, but recommended if wanting to explore the Florida Keys. Key West is small enough to utilize local taxis and Uber when getting around.

Option #2
Fly into Miami and drive.
This is often the more cost effective mode of travel. Requiring a rental car and 3 to 4 hour drive, this is the best way to do it if staying in the lower Keys for any extended period of time. Having a rental car enables you to stay anywhere, and go anywhere along the chain of islands that make the Florida Keys.

Option #3
Fly into Fort Lauderdale and drive.
This is often the cheapest mode of travel when planing to fly. Fort Lauderdale airport is also a much smaller and easier airport to manage than Miami International Airport. This requires a rental car and 4 to 5 hour drive to the Lower Florida Keys.
